Aluah Essays Prelude
My writings in ‘Aluah Essays’ involve various topics, but hopefully, in some way, are connected by curiosity and wonderment. They are not written to make a point; rather, they are written to stimulate thinking and raise questions instead of providing answers.
I suppose you could argue with them, if you wish, and I suppose that would actually be a good thing;– and I would love to be there with you and hear your thoughts and perspectives, if and when you do.
So please, as you read my essays, try not to fight them too much. Just enjoy them for their perspectives and contemplative thoughts.
Read one below on 'Regularity'.
Regularity
I find it quite interesting how comfortable we are to live in regularity; even though, it is our human nature to become quite easily bored with repetitive experiences. I’m sure regularity is some type of formal structure that we create in our lives or has been created for us just to help us survive.
Obviously, in our societies we have rules, laws, and mores and maybe even a constitution to help guide us through life so that we may co-exist in some form of civility and cohabitation with ourselves and others.
Even so, along the way certain things seem to change enough for us to take note -- or make us a bit too uncomfortable -- of which may now require an amendment or two to accommodate more regularity.
Our individual lives are not so unsimilar to our societies in that we have our own laws, rules, mores, and especially our own amendments to accommodate ourselves. We may choose to call this learning, growth, or more elaborately ordained as gaining wisdom. How convenient for us to allow enough room for expansion of our regularity. Whatever we call it, it is an amendment to what we had previously thought was already quite right and wonderful.
So to bring this more pointedly into our own personal fiber, I find it even more interesting how unadaptable we are in our daily moments of irregularity, as life unravels unexpected or unanticipated outcomes or responses that somehow fall outside our original suppositions.
Of course, being the self-protective survivors we are, we are quite quick to note and maybe even expound to others how well we respond to these interruptions and interferences in our lives so much so sometimes that we may even incorporate them into our new fiber or version of self-proclaimed declarations and even proudly wear them as a well-earned decoration.
Surely, we are warriors of irregularity in our own minds, as we continue to cling tightly to our foundation and structure of well-defined regularity.
With some pause, I would venture to think that even the most girded of us must have a good laugh at ourselves once in awhile, as we look in the mirror to confirm or confess our current version of regularity.
As alluded to previously, I think it must be some form of survival mechanism.
